FAQ

What is a smart home?

The number of devices that have computers embedded in them and/or are connected to each other or the internet is increasing rapidly. Toys, care alarms, baby monitors, light switches, heating controls, web cams, kitchen appliances, smart speakers, and so on can be all controlled from your phone, tablet or laptop. Get in touch with us to explore how your home can become smarter.

What do your consultative services involve?

We can consult on IT solutions, Wi-Fi and broadband, for your homeworking set up, TV, Hi-Fi and Multiroom, smart homes, internet safety and security, upgrades and repairs, and smart heating. Initial consultancy is free; we don’t charge for the initial meeting or discussions.

How will I know whether something is worth replacing?

Our team will advise you on the best way forward to ensure any solution meets with your needs. Whether this is an overhaul of your current device, upgrades or replacement. We will discuss the reasoning behind our recommendations with you before we move forward.

Do you offer on-going support services?

Currently, we do not offer standard support services, although we aim to do so in the future. We can however discuss support requirements on an individual basis. We are more than happy to help with any questions you have – just give us a call.

What training services do you offer?

After implementing any new solution or changes, we will run through the information with you and in some cases can provide basic documentation outside of that already available. We are happy to discuss any other training requirements with you on an individual basis.

Why does my home computer network matter?

The more connected devices we have – from doorbells to fridges to light bulbs to vacuum cleaners – the more demands are made on the network technologies they depend on. Planning and designing your home network will help to avoid problems in the future. We believe the home computer network should be regarded in the same way as the domestic electrical wiring and plumbing.
